John Brazil is running for a seat on the city council, and he wants your vote! He is seeking to be seated for Mineral Wells At Large Place 2. Leaning into his ability to make checklists and experience in disaster preparedness, Mr. Brazil believes he has a perspective that is valuable to the people of Mineral Wells. John brings a blue collar and a supervisory eye for how the city can proceed and make the most of its resources, all in hopes of seeing Mineral Wells become more than a tourist community.
Mr. Brazil believes Mineral Wells is needing leadership roles that will specialize in maintaining a degree of preparedness. He commented how even now, looking at a dry Spring, the city should be looking into measures to temper water use. Vision, willingness to work, and out of the box thinking born from his time with Emergency Action in the Air Force, John feels he offers a mind set that will streamline projects in the city. An example he gave was that the MWPD could and should be a command center for Mineral Wells. How a call to the non-emergency number should be more valuable for a citizen, and the police could relay information to whomever needed.
“Do what you can, as quickly as possible, to nip the problem in the bud.”
One of things that comes with checklists is the need to see them done. Brazil shared his enthusiasm for the Harbor Freight coming to Mineral Wells. An experienced hand needs good tools, and he views the hardware chain with absolute delight. He commented more on the sleeping potential of the city; how the golf course could use a residential area and the airport could land larger planes for commercial use. John also looks at every empty rooftop as an opportunity, saying that solar could be used from one side of the city to the other. The potential output of such an endeavor, along with adequate storage for the power generated, could bring revenue to MW and help supplement the Texas power grid.
We wish John good luck, along with all the other candidates, in their upcoming bid for city council. Keep up with Goodday to catch coverage of the city council meetings and those who seek a seat. From the ballot box to the big decisions made by those elected, we are reaching out to bring it all to you! We hope ya’ll have a good one!
