Hello everyone! It’s hard to believe that October is upon us, and fall is finally here. This summer has been amazing, but the season’s festivities are changing for all of us in Palo Pinto County. I hope you are all ready to join in on the fun with this weekend’s events! 

The first event is for all dads! This double event will last all weekend long for fathers and their children. These are specific events presented by High Adventure Treks for Dads and Daughters/Dad’s and Sons also known as HATS. The First option is for Dad’s and Daughters in 7th grade with rock climbing! This will begin Friday, October 1st, 2021 at 5 pm and will end at 12 pm on October 3rd. This climb will bring the two together through laughs and trust. Also, by HATS there will be a Father and Sons in 6th grade adventure canoeing! This will take place October 2nd, 2021 at 8:30 am and conclude that Sunday at 12 pm. Tis the season to be under the stars with your loved one. The Clark Gardens, located at 567 Maddux Rd, Weatherford TX,is hosting a 21+Date night just for the occasion. This will be happening this Friday night at 5:30 pm. All couples may bring a picnic-basket style meal and something appropriate to drink. The cost for this lovely excursion is just $20 per couple. Next up we have a wonderful showcase that will be presented by Dylan Hoffman. This upcoming artist is said to have some real style. She is from Brock TX, who plays original country. She will be playing at the Smokin’ Barrel this Friday night from 6 pm to 9 pm. So, if you are looking for a great show accompanied by delicious food come on out. It’s time to support our boys in blue who protect us daily! The Mineral Wells Police Officer Association will be hosting a great fundraising event with a bowling tournament at our Mountaineer Lanes Bowling Alley! The games will begin Friday at 7:30 pm, the registration is $250 per team of five. There will also be raffle tickets and trophies given to the victors! Do you believe in magic? Well let’s be practical about it and watch Practical Magic, a Halloween classic as a movie night downtown at the Sill. The show will begin rolling this Friday night at 8:30 pm. This great family outing will be wonderful to all who wish to attend. You are welcomed to bring your own food, drinks, blankets, and lawn chairs to this showing. The cost is just $5 a person or $10 a family. I smell something homegrown, or I have just gone crazy! The Let’s Grow Crazy Farmers Market will be happening this Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at 9 am. The address to the market is 500 SE 2nd Ave, Mineral Wells, TX 76067. So, if you haven’t gotten some fresh produce for all the festivities this season. They would love to accommodate you. It’s amazing what the world sounds like when we turn our phones, TV’s, and vehicles off. If you are interested in hearing the true sounds of nature, this event was made for you. Night Sounds take place this Saturday night at our Mineral Wells State Park. So if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This occasion will be free with park entry. Sometimes it’s the right time to fill yourself with worship! This Christian event will be filled with song and guidance at the Palo Pinto Cowboy Church at 2731 FM 129 in Santo, Tx. The melodies will begin Saturday at 6 pm. The worship will be led by non-other than Cherilyn Johnston who can’t wait to meet with you, and celebrate the faith. Come out for a spooky ghost walk Saturday at 8 pm! This walk will be hosted by The Baker Hotel Ghost Walk & Believe Boo-tique. The night will be filled with chilling stories and fun experiences. Get your pocket books ready for a big win with— BINGO! This week’s bingo night will begin, Sunday, October 3rd, 2021 at 5 pm. This evening at our local American Legion Post 75.
