The Community Christian Warriors continue to show they are a strong team as they take this win against Stephenville Faith. The first quarter had a rough beginning for CCS but they turned it around and left the field with a final score of 54-88.

Bryan Horton, CCS Head Football Coach, gave us some insight on how he thought the game went:
“Friday was a good win for us. Early on we didn’t execute especially on that first series and throughout the half we didn’t really play the spread defense the way we needed to from an individual technique perspective. We addressed that at halftime and credit to our ends it proved to be a huge adjustment and really led to the scoring differential in the 3rd that cemented the W for us. I wouldn’t say it was unexpected as it’s Week 2 and I’m happy to have kids who can make a mistake, get coached and move forward with success. We’ve got a tough matchup against Perrin coming up so we’re looking forward to another good non-district “barometer” game so to speak. Individually, William Goree and Hayden Hasenjaeger had great games receiving. Bryce Haralson continued with super reliable blocking from the upback position. Lazaray Hellams was the big performer, coming in and fixing a problem we had last week at the center position. Great snaps and some great grabs especially on that 4th down in the early 4th quarter. Player of the game was Christian Crawford though. Both sides of the ball he was a beast. Tackling in the open field and blocking downfield on our runs, through in a few TDs. Hard to say enough about the game he had. Jackson Horton, of course, has got the big numbers and he deserves a lot of credit for what he’s doing out on the football but he’ll be the first to tell you it’s a pretty easy game when you’ve got these guys around you.”
