Kelli Barbee and Tammy Austin nominated Kayla Hons in The 2021 Goodday Mineral Wells Top 40 under 40. Here is why Kelli and Tammy nominated Kayla:
Why should she be recognized? “Kayla has been a blessing since she stepped foot in town 14 years ago. She has a gentle spirit and an eagerness to help. Whether she is working endless hours to support a customer’s dream of owning a home or volunteering in the community for a worthy cause, it will be done with a servant’s heart. The true definition of generosity and leadership radiates from her every day. Kayla is passionate about her community she serves in and has a gracious style of encouraging others to do the same.”
Professional Achievements: “Kayla is a graduate of San Angelo State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Business and a Master’s in Business Administration. She attended Tx Tech School of Banking and began her career as a new accounts representative, moved her way up to Compliance Officer, and then transitioning into lending. She is currently employed at Community National Bank as a Mortgage Loan Officer. In 2020, Kayla was honored by San Angelo State University as a Distinguished Carr Scholar Alumna.”
Activities: “Kayla has deep roots planted in our community. She has been involved in Leadership Mineral Wells, a current member of the Zonta Club, delivers for Meals on Wheels, member of Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church where she teaches Catechism and is the sponsor for the Sturdivant 4-H. She is married to Brandon Hons and has 2 beautiful girls, Bailey and Avery. You can always find her cheering them on at one of their many activities whether it’s basketball, volleyball, softball, 4-H, or violin lessons.”
