The 96th Annual Chamber Banquet is only days away! Marcelina Williams and some of the chamber ambassadors met with Cody Jordan to start planning out the table placement and other planning needs in The Crazy Water Plaza. The Crazy Water Plaza is looking better than ever as it is one coat away from having the floors fully polished! Cody Jordan went on to share that some of the retail shops in the plaza plan to be open before the end of September. People that attend the banquet will be able to wander into some of the rooms during the networking section of the event but the shops will be closed for the event.

“We are looking forward to this year’s 96th Annual Chamber Banquet,” said Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO David May. “The event is nearly sold out with just about a few dozen individual tickets remaining. Of course, social media star and comedian Chad Prather is the main attraction. We are excited about his return to Mineral Wells, and he is equally excited about coming back.”

At the time of publishing, there are only 35 tickets left for the banquet so if you plan to go, hurry down to the chamber and purchase a ticket today or give them a call. There will be a silent auction with various great things, Jonny Goodday (myself) donated a 2019 original signed print for the auction that benefits The Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce. The Annual Chamber Banquet is The Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

May urges those attending to take whatever precautions they are comfortable with in light of the ongoing pandemic.

“The pavilion is very spacious and we will be spread out as much as possible,” said May. “Our caterer, Brazos Market & Bistro, is making a couple of changes on service to help reduce contact with food and service items. Having the high school culinary and FFA students bring dinner to the tables will prevent people from standing in close contact in a service line. We will have hand sanitizer on the tables and masks available at the door. We want everyone to have fun, but also be safe and stay mindful of the situation in our community.”

May said he hopes everyone attending enjoys some networking, socializing, the entertainment and the program on Sept. 30. To purchase available tickets call the chamber at 940-325-2557.

“We are going to have great food and drinks, enjoy some laughs, hand out some awards and recognitions and have a fun evening in the beautiful Crazy Water Plaza pavilion as we celebrate the great strides our city and county are making while preparing for and anticipating the success and excitement that lies ahead,” said May. “What a great time to be in Mineral Wells and Palo Pinto County.”
