Lou Neal

July 20, 1934 – August 24, 2021

Lou Neal, age 87, of Mineral Wells, TX left this world to spend eternity with Jesus on August 24, 2021 due to COVID related illness. She departed to join the love of her life Percy Wayne Neal.

Lou was born July 20, 1934 in Gorman, TX, to Herman Josh Cox and Myrtle Geneva (McDonald) Cox of Comanche, TX. They were wonderful Christian parents and members of Immanuel Baptist Church of Mineral Wells. She spent the time God gave her in this life loving and serving others. She spent endless hours praying, cooking for others, and meeting the needs of people.  She loved all her family and friends. Lou was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. We know she is in a much better place, healed and happy with her heavenly Father.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Wayne Neal; parents Herman & Myrtle Cox; sisters Juanita Todd and Pauline Guill; brother, Calvin Cox.

Lou is survived by her daughters, Vickie Cooper of Mineral Wells, Debbie Porter and husband Richard of Stephenville; granddaughters, Lisa Coe and husband John of Mineral Wells, and Krista Edwards of Mineral Wells; grandson Kelvin Porter and Kim Iley of Stephenville; great grandchildren, Ridge Wayne Johnston, Louis “Bubba” Edwards, Heaven Edwards and fiance Frank Zavala, Lillian Edwards, Morgan Boyd and husband Jacob, Trace Coe, Ashley LeFever and husband Lance, Cody Johnston and wife Lekrecia; eleven great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dearest friend, Dean Abbott.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Immanuel Baptist Church with David Wilkins officiating. Visitation will be at the church at 1pm. Interment will be at Sardis Cemetery in Hasse, TX.
