Elvie Jack Tongate

Elvie Jack Tongate was born on June 11, 1934 in Precinct #1 Brown County and he passed away on August 18, 2021 at his home in Mineral Wells, Texas. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Edgar Tongate and Ella Ideela Ratliff Tongate, his 1st wife and mother of his 6 children, Henry Jo Blanton Tongate and after her passing he married his 2nd wife of 20+ years, Ruth Tongate and his son in law Dale Sanders.
He is survived by his 6 children daughter Glenda Sanders, Son Jacky and his wife Sylvia Tongate, daughter Becky and her husband John Cornwall, son David and his wife Nina Tongate, son Russell Tongate, son Michael and his wife Staci Tongate. He also has 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells. Visitation will be an hour prior at the church. Interment will be at McAdams Cemetery at Possum Kingdom Lake.
