Anita Floy Jones

Anita Floy Jones passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, August 21, 2021. A graveside service will be held at New Hope Cemetery on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner.
Anita was born May 10, 1946 in Mineral Wells TX to Wesley and Dorothy (Marsden) Jones. She attended Santo High School and married the love of her life, Terry Jones, on January 2, 1962 in Lone Camp, Texas. They made Lone Camp their home together for forty-seven years, farming peanuts, baling hay, raising cattle, running bulldozers and raising kids. She was an active member of Lone Camp Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school, leading the Children’s sermon and working in VBS for decades. Her talents were considerable, including painting, woodworking, arts and crafts, working in her yard and fishing with a cane pole—sometimes in forbidden ponds. Whether you knew her as Anita, Nita, Mama, Mamaw or Papaw’s Mamaw, she cared deeply about others and was committed to serving her family and community in any way that she could. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed the many family get togethers, which always involved games of Tripoly, Keno or Shanghai. She will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Anita was proceeded in death by her husband Terry, and brothers Jerry Jones and Lloyd Jones.
She is survived by her son Craig Jones and wife Sue of Fayetteville, Ark and daughter Rhonda Jones and wife Amy of Frisco, TX. Grandsons Jack Jones and wife Julia and Will Jones and girlfriend Molly Long, all of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Brother Don Jones and wife Shirley of Santo TX and sister Melanie (Jones) Brownrigg and husband Rob of Tin Top, TX, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Anita is also survived by her dear and cherished Lone Camp Baptist Church family and many friends and devoted neighbors in Lone Camp.
