Sunday, Aug 29th, 2021, The Mineral Wells Women’s Club needed a little bit of help freshening up the old post office, home to the Mineral Wells Women’s Club since 1976. The garden out front needs a minimum of a monthly tending to because of the mint that has been planted. The non-profit was very thankful today when Glenn, his wife Joanna, Carolyn Cooper, and Martha Mitchell for providing help in the gardens and the work on chalk art letters for The Crazy Water Festival.
A member of the Women’s Club went on to share that Glenn helps them often whenever they need a hand, “He helps us with heavy mulch and bags we can’t handle! He is our standby for everything, we are always needing a man for something and he is so good to step up inside and out to help!”
The old post office of Mineral Wells was originally built in 1912 and was the post office till 1959. In 1976 the Women’s Club became the owners of the old post office restoring it to its original beauty and giving it a new purpose. Since then they have done a great job. We will be coming out with an article soon highlighting the full history of The Women’s Club and the old post office! But for now, we wanted to highlight the great work going on today to keep Mineral Wells Beautiful.
