Earlier today, Palo Pinto General Hospital (PPGH) shared data that COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Palo Pinto County. According to their Facebook post, month after month, the percentage of positive results for the COVID tests administered at PPGH have increased and they are asking people to get the vaccine to help avoid the spread.
“Take the shot! At the hospital, our percentage of positive COVID tests vs. negative COVID tests is going up. In May, 1.6% of tests came back positive. In June, 5% of tests came back positive.
So far in July, 15.6% of the tests are coming back positive.” -Palo Pinto General Hospital via Facebook
PPGH has not shared how many tests were administered during the month of May, June, or July under the reasoning of HIPA but by reviewing national trends and local data provided by Texas Health and Human Services, Goodday Mineral Wells can assume that the number of tests has also increased month after month but at this time we can not confirm the total tests reflecting the percentages provided by PPGH.
What we do know is there are an estimated 26 cases in Palo Pinto County. If you are looking for more local information on how to get tested or how you can get vaccinated, please go to the Palo Pinto General Hospital website.
