Virginia “Ginger” Stanford
September 24, 1960 – June 7, 2021
Virginia “Ginger” Ann Stanford, 60, of Mineral Wells, Texas finished her earthly race well in her home surrounded by family on June 7, 2021.
She was born in Mineral Wells, Texas on September 24, 1960 to Bill Garland Tyner of Mineral Wells, TX and Doris Jean Stevens of Clyde, TX. She graduated the Barbazon School of Modeling in 1979 and received her GED a few years later. On April 18, 1980, she eloped and married her best friend Rick Stanford and celebrated two months later with a double wedding alongside her sister Billie Jean Richards and brother-in-law Steven “Steve” Richards on June 14th, 1980.
Ginger was preceded in death by her father Bill Tyner, sister Angela Tyner (12 hours old), and beloved brother-in-law Steve Richards.
She is survived by her husband Rick Stanford, daughters Brooke Stanford and Ashley Surber, wife of William Surber whom Ginger considered as a son, grandsons Ezra and Asher Surber and granddaughters, Cedar, Atlee and Valor Surber, all of Mineral Wells, TX, mother Doris Stevens and her husband Gary Stevens of Clyde, TX, sister Billie Jean Richards, brother Robert Garland Tyner and his wife Carrie Tyner all of Mineral Wells, TX, nephew Adam Richards and his wife Irais Richards of Fort Worth, TX, niece Catrina Richards of Mineral Wells, TX, two great-nephews and one great-niece as well as numerous cousins.
Visitation for the family will be on Friday, June 18th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Well of Life Church, 2514 US-180, Mineral Wells, Texas 76067. A memorial service will be held in honor of Ginger on Saturday, June 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Well of Life Church followed by light refreshments. Guests are encouraged to wear bright or light colors to represent Ginger’s personality and spirit. Additionally, if you would like to write a memory or story of Ginger or words of encouragement in advance, there will be a drop-box available.
