Jo Skinner


SKINNER, Jo Marie (Osthoff), Age 79, formerly of Arlington, Texas, passed away Friday, June 18, 2021. She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas and received her BA from The University of Texas- Arlington. While attending UTA, Jo Marie was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, served as a cheerleader, and was voted Miss Dixie Bell. 

Always active in her community, Jo Marie was a member of and held offices in the Arlington Women’s Club, Scotts Wood Garden Club, Shady Valley Country Club, and Fielder Road Baptist Church. At Fielder Road Baptist Church, she was a member of the Choir and highly active in her Sunday school class. She had a true love of music, playing both the organ and the piano. In 1968, she was voted Woman of The Year in Arlington Texas.

Jo Marie was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, centering her life around her family. She enjoyed teaching her granddaughter the piano, attending her grandchildren’s recitals, athletic games, and competitions. She also enjoyed hosting holiday events for friends and family. Jo Marie always made you feel welcomed and loved. Her laugh and smile will be greatly missed by all.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Reinhard Osthoff, and her son, Scot Skinner. She is survived by her sister, Kathy Thalden; daughter, Stacy (Skinner) Kissinger; grandchildren, Kirby Kissinger- Ingram, Colby Kissinger, Jordan Hajek, Sophie Hefner, and Brock Skinner; great granddaughter and namesake, Lyla Jo Ingram; and nieces Beth Williams and Jennifer Mcknight, as well as many friends. 

The family would like to express a sincere thank you for the wonderful care given by Serenity Estates- Mineral Wells, and a special thank you to Danny Kissinger for all the thrilling wheelchair rides through downtown Mineral Wells.
