If you haven’t had a chance to plan anything with your friends or family, Don’t stress about it! I have composed a wonderful list of weekend events for all to adore while remembering our troops.

  • First up this weekend we have a Rising Star. Brett Patterson, a local musician, will take the stage at Coffee & Cocktails this Friday evening at 8 pm. This artist not only does wonderful cover songs of icons such as Johnny Cash. But he also writes his own music.   • Next, it’s time to rev your engines! This Saturday, May 29th at 2 pm there will be a local Classic Cars Parade for our senior citizens at Lakewell Place, located at 3005 NE 2nd St. So if you have a classic car that you would like to show off, it would mean a lot to these citizens to see it.   • One-Two-Three; This one is a Knockout! APW’s Mortal Combat is back in Mineral Wells! This Saturday, at 6:30 pm the smack-down begins at Palo Pinto Livestock Association.   • Alright, GhostBusters it’s time to get creepy! On May 29, 2021, at 308 Lee Rd, Mineral Wells, Ghost Hunts USA, is hosting a real ghost investigation! This adventure will take place at our local Beach Army Hospital starting at 7:30 pm. For a little bit of history with a touch of horror, this is the night for you!   • This next event is for all my FFA citizens. Sunday, May 30th at 9 am there will be a Beginner Hoof Trimming Class. Ida Hammer will be hosting this class for all who would like to better educate themselves on the care of their horses. The event will take place from 9 am to 5 pm at 2 Lions Ranch off Copperhead Rd.   • It’s time for a good story. Cross Timbers Cowboy Poetry and Stories will take place Sunday, May 30th at 9:30 pm. The experience will happen at our Mineral Wells State Park in the Lone Star Amphitheater. This is a truly memorable night for the whole family to enjoy. The program is free with a park entrance fee.   • Last but never least, it’s time to remember our veterans and what this whole weekend is all about. Memorial Day Ceremony will take place, Monday, May 31st at 10 am at our Memorial Gardens on Mineral Wells HWY. This event will be a touching moment to remember all those we have lost fighting for our freedom and those who are fighting still. The Parker County American Legion Post 163; will be providing over 600 flags to local fallen veterans graves. Come out to show your gratitude and suppo /rt.
