As any city grows it looks for ways to bring in business and people. Our town and its dedicated community have been working to show that Mineral Wells is worth notice, and their diligence is opening new opportunities everywhere. One of the things that go hand in hand with a developing city’s image, is a place for people to come and share in our home. A comfortable space to plan their experience with what the MW area has to offer. Debra Hanlon and her family are converting some long-standing housing into a local Airbnb; being kind enough to invite Goodday for a preview of the new business.
The beautiful three-story building on NW 6th St stands out for its size and clean colors. A soft white with a red-trimmed exterior, the property offers a quiet and open welcome. Its windowed façade hinting at the room inside while its construction tells the story of a building that predates the Baker by almost a decade. While some of their rooms are being worked on, the finished ones were gorgeous. From bedroom to kitchen, to bath, the aesthetic is solid. Giving off the air of a modern country farm home. Having brought in some tasteful furniture to help provide for that warm environment. Mrs. Hanlon credited her sister-in-law for bringing excitement and helping pull together the look for the home, another fine example of a talented family acting as a community.

Mrs. Debra was kind enough to speak to Jonny Goodday about their hope of what this Airbnb will offer people coming through. Saying, “this fell into our lap pretty much…and we thought it’d be fun to do an Airbnb and make this a great place to come visit.” Going on to tell Goodday about their family’s experience with Airbnb and wanting to provide that comfortable hub to others. She shared a steadfast wish to be able to work with local businesses and attractions to continue to build up our city and its name.

Mrs. Hanlon was confident in the amenities they would be keeping stocked, from having local mineral water in the fridge to family games, exceptional wi-fi, and a broad cable selection. The space also provides for a quiet retreat in a more literal sense with its mostly concrete construction, allowing for relaxation with less worry of rambunctious guests. The building reflects just a bit of an age almost past by, and ingenuity that was ahead of its time. Considering that even modern modular housing is using concrete mixtures to 3D print entire houses, this Airbnb’s older construction will be a testament to tradition and knowledge that transcends the generations.
We here at Goodday wish them the best of luck and fortune. A big Hello and Howdy to all coming through! Ya’ll stay classy!
