Sound the fanfare ladies and gentlemen, another of our incredible community members is being recognized! MWISD’s Mrs. Natalie Griffin will soon be awarded the Distinguished Library Service Award for School Administrators. Which is a long way of saying this is one impressive lady! As Executive Director of Special Programs for the district, Mrs. Griffin has been putting in diligent work to build up additional resources for students. Her efforts are being acknowledged by the Texas Association of School Librarians.
TASL has taken note of Natalie’s dedicated efforts to help connect local libraries while supporting and networking for staff. They mention her mindfulness about funding and technologies needed to nurture the ever-driven next generation. TASL considers Mrs. Griffin a true champion of the values and practices that make libraries, and their distinguished care takers, so needed. They see her work as an inspired example of the role Librarians and Administrators can play in our communities and how they are the best people to help implement technologies that would be thought to replace them.
Mrs. Griffin will be recognized as Administrator of the Year while receiving her accolade at the TASL Awards later in April. We at Goodday wish Natalie, the Mineral Wells ISD, and all those representing the TASL success in their amazing work. As we have covered recently, reading and knowledge are too important to approach passively. Absorb all you can and find time for your favorite books! We hope ya’ll keep at it!
