Diamond Pharmacy has been part of the Mineral Wells community for 34 years now. They do their best to serve the entire community alongside their customers. The pharmacy staff understands that receiving medications is an important part of patient care in coordination with your medical team or doctor.
Diamond Pharmacy opened its doors in 1987. James Lynn White owns the pharmacy, and Cathy Bohannon has been running Diamond Pharmacy since 1998. They have a very personal approach to serving their customers. They never want their clients to feel like a number.
Cathy states, “Our phones aren’t automated… If you call, you’re going to talk to a person, you’re not going to get one or two or three. The phone rings, we’re gonna answer it.”… “One thing we’ve always told our employees is that you learn the customer. And if you see him walk in the front door you better beat them to the counter.”… “ We know their names already. And my employees are really good about that.”
Diamond Pharmacy prides itself on having a dependable staff. They like to have people customers are familiar with when picking up prescriptions. It makes customer care more personal. Cathy notes, “So most of our employees have been here probably fifteen years or more.”
There are now several generations Diamond Pharmacy provides for. Customers who were served as children are now grown and bringing their children in for their medication needs. “We’ve watched our patients grow up. We’re now taking care of little kids that we were taking care of, they’re now bringing their kids in here for us to take care of.”
Diamond Pharmacy strives to provide unparalleled customer service. They can set their own prices. If something is too much for a customer’s budget they try to find deals to make it more affordable. Cathy takes pride in going the extra mile -“If somebody comes in and they get a name brand drug that is coming out $100, and $50. We know how to get in there and find coupons from the manufacturer that’s lots of times, they get it for $5…. So we’re gonna go that extra mile to make sure that they can afford it.” And if they don’t have a particular medication on hand, they do their best to have it by the next business day.
Diamond Pharmacy serves their customers and the community as a whole. They give back by sponsoring sports teams including Little League and high school teams. They look for things that need to be done and do their best to make it happen. For example, “Parents griping about the sign, like the scoreboard not working, you know, kind of contacting them saying what is it going to take to get the scoreboard up and running.” They support programs like Backpack Buddies, during Holiday Season they pass out light up necklaces to children, and keep stickers and toys behind the counter for their customers’ kids.
Diamond Pharmacy provides excellent care in all they do. The citizens of Mineral Wells and the surrounding area are lucky to have this pharmacy. “Ya know, just come in, give us a chance” … “And we’ll treat you fair, we’ll treat you like family.”
