PSA From John Kuhn, Superintendent of MWISD
Looking ahead to possible inclement weather next week, MWISD wants to remind all families that Monday, February 15, 2021, is a staff professional development day. Students do not have school on Monday.
There is a chance of ice and snow early next week, so we want to remind parents to watch the usual communications channels that MWISD officials use to inform the public of potential delays and closures.
All parents and teachers should be aware that if we are unable to attend school due to inclement weather next week, MWISD will shift to a remote learning model districtwide. Students will still have school, but will do their work from home, either via Chromebooks or via work packets.
Devices and/or work packets will be sent home with students today, to be safe. (We do not know if school will be cancelled or not next week at this time; we are just preparing for that as a possibility.)
Options will be available for families who lack internet access. Check with your campus for details on this.
It is our hope that the weather impact next week will be minimal and we will be able return to class in person on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. The purpose of this communication is to provide important and timely information to parents in the event of a possible weather-related interruption next week.
