CCS Lady Warriors 32, Southwest Christian School 55
In only their second loss of the season, the CCS Lady Warriors fell to a competitive SCS team, a TAPPS 5A team, who is now sitting at 21-1 on their season thus far.
The Lady Warriors battled hard, and led the entire first half of the game. By the second half their tanks were near empty, and foul trouble, including losing junior guard Jersey Davila and sophomore post Kate Buchanan in the 4th sealed their fate.
Despite the rough game senior Hena Spahic still came away with double digits scoring 13 points, and close behind was senior Elaina Buchanan with 9 points. Buchanan also pulled down 12 rebounds and tied Davila for a team high 4 steals.
CCS Warriors 62, Highlands Blazers 22
The CCS Warriors followed up the Lady Warriors loss with a big win over Highlands, taking an early lead in the first quarter and never looking back.
Junior Jackson Horton led the charge with 27 points, including five 3-pointers and 5 steals. Senior Joshua Guzman scored in double figures with 18 points, and handed out 7 assists.
Senior Night
CCS honored their 6 seniors during a break in play before the start of the Warriors-Blazers game. The presentation was full of emotion, love, and celebration, as the players were escorted on the court by their families and loved ones and given gifts by coaches and teammates. Most of the Warriors and Lady Warriors are hoping to continue playing sports at the next level.
