Two spots on the Mineral Wells ISD school board are up for grabs in May.
Place 1 and Place 2 spots are on the ballot for a possible May 1 election. The window to file to run for either spot opened on Jan. 13 and runs through 5 p.m. on Feb. 12, according to the district’s website.
Place 1 is currently filled by Greg Malone, and Place 2 is held by Scott Elder. Both board members have declared their intent to refile for the seats.
No one else has filed to run for either seat, as of Jan. 27.
Board members are elected for staggered three-year terms, according to the district’s website. Each member is elected at-large and represents the district as a whole.
Application packets can be picked up at the District Service Complex during business hours. For more information, visit Election Information – School Board – Mineral Wells Independent School District (mwisd.net).
