At Goodday Mineral Wells, we wanted to start this new year with some pretty impressive announcements. The most exciting thing is Goodday Mineral Wells has three journalists as of today. Including myself, that places us with four writers total with conversations being had of adding more team members soon. Mineral Wells has a lot going on. We want to ensure our community is getting the coverage it deserves. Growing is the only option we have to achieve that.
Kellci Baker and Krista Allen have been involved with Goodday Mineral Wells for some time now, but now they are taking a more serious role.
Kellci is our lead sports journalist for the city of Mineral Wells. As you may have already seen, she covers sports photography as well. Her interest and involvement within the community and local sports teams made it a clear decision she was right for the role.
Krista Allen will mostly cover lifestyle articles, she has a heart for this town and its stories that she has been wanting to share with all of you for some time through Goodday Mineral Wells. We have an upcoming article series about the local businesses that have been here through the years and she will be taking the lead on it.
Makenzie Plusnick is the newest part of the team. She is a recent graduate from Tarleton State University, where she studied journalism. She enjoys writing about local government and education. Since her passion is in these subjects, she will be covering school board meetings and the other essential government meetings in mineral wells.
Those might be the main topics they will write about but these writers will be covering other subjects as well.
As we are a free publication to our readers and always will be, adding on the new writers was made possible by our great local advertisers, page sponsors, and wonderful donors that have helped with the start-up costs.
There has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes. Over the past couple of months, the website has gone through tedious optimizations to provide you a free news source that is fast and visually attractive. All of you that have already subscribed to our email list probably noticed a nice surprise this morning. The email lists are active, and we have different options to choose from. Here are the current mailing list options. Once you fill out a form you will be given the option to choose which list you want to be a part of and managing your email subscription is simple by going to our top bar menu. (all the mailing lists are free by the way):
- The Monthly Newsletter: On the first Monday of the month, you can receive an email highlighting the previous month’s top articles. This will be printable and designed to look like a newspaper so you can cut out the stories you like and hold onto them forever.
- All Articles: If you want to receive an email for every article we publish, this is the group for you. As soon as an article hits our website, you would receive an email. Perfect for breaking news.
- The Morning Update: This subscription will let you receive a few articles at 7 am every morning so you can read the most recent articles when you have your coffee.
- The Evening Update: This is the same as The Morning Update, except it will be sent at 7 pm, keeping up to date on what happened when you were at work.
We are continuing to get more and more visitors to Goodday Mineral Wells. In the last 30 days, each one of our advertisers ad slots were seen over 130,000 times. We guarantee 30,000 ad views per month but we never expected numbers like this.
There is a lot more in the works currently, more updates will be coming soon. If you want to join the free email subscription, just fill out the form at the bottom of this article.
