
It is no secret that the CCS Lady Warriors are a team to be reckoned with on the hardwood. They have done some amazing things, including an impressive playoff run last year, where they ended up placing 2nd in the TCAF state finals.
Now some individual Lady Warriors are making a name for themselves and have been ranked in the top 25 in Texas by MaxPreps. CCS fans are no strangers to the high level of play by them, but now the entire state is noticing.
In a recent article, we got to celebrate Hena Spahic and Elaina Buchanan for their impressive milestones, Spahic for scoring 1000+ points, and Buchanan for 1000+ rebounds. Now we add a new name to our list, Jersey Davila.


Hena Spahic
Bosnian native Hena Spahic has been wow-ing basketball fans with her high level of play and on-court leadership for the past 2 years now. She takes rank in 2 stat columns, scoring, and assists. The senior is ranked #10 in scoring, raking in an impressive 22.7 points per game, including a 36 point performance in December 2020 in a win against Victory Christian Academy. In addition to her scoring rank, she was also credited with setting up others to score. Amongst Texas ballers, she is ranked 8th with 5.4 Assists per game and 81 on the season.

Jersey Davila
Davila, a junior guard for CCS, is the newest member of the Lady Warriors squad but has quickly impressed the fans, coaches, and teammates with her gritty play and never-quit attitude. This has ranked her among the best defensive players, putting her at #22 in steals per game, with an average of 5.5 per game, including 6 takeaways in a December game against Victory Baptist Academy, where the Lady Warriors won, holding their opponent to only 12 points.

Elaina “Lani” Buchanan
Lani, another senior leader for CCS and a huge part of their 15-0 record, has etched her name in the top 25 rankings in a most impressive 4 categories. First, she ranks highest in rebounds per game, where she sits at 4th in Texas’s great state. She is averaging 14.3 rebounds per game, with 214 rebounds through 15 games. As if that wasn’t enough, she also ranks 9th in steals per game with 6.1 per game, 24th in blocks per game with 2.5 per game, and is 20th in double-doubles with 11 on the season, which is impressive with only 16 games on the season(as of the time of the article 1/15/21).
