Henry Cox stopped into Meals on Wheels today to drop off a check in the hopes of starting a new trend. Clint Myrick shared a statement about the event:
“Henry Cox shares his Christmas Cheer with a donation of $365 to Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County.
Henry’s challenge to the community is to donate a dollar a day for 2020 = $365 A dime a day, $36.50, or even a penny a day $3.65. Every little bit counts and helps pay for meals. People are struggling, and this is a perfect time of the year to give back to our home-bound seniors.
Just try to give back to a nonprofit that gives so much to Palo Pinto County. Serving almost 200 meals a day to its clients.
Lena also stated that there is a shortage of volunteers. As the volunteer coordinator, she stated that they lack 45 slots a month. They only take 30-45 minutes. So, Lena’s challenge is for volunteers to give 36 hours back a year. 3 hours a month or fill in as a substitute for a lesser time.
Barry Campbell, the MOW interim executive director, agreed, stating you can help our organization immensely with either your time or money.”
Meals on Wheels has big plans for 2021, and Goodday Mineral Wells will be providing updates, so be ready. 2021 holds some wonderful surprises.
