Tuesday November 17th, The Bazos Foundation met with eight different organizations to give out grants totaling in over $64,000. Since 1989, The Brazos Foundation has given over $600,000 to organizations in the county of Palo Pinto. Typically the grants are given at the yearly event but because of the pandemic, there was no in-person event this year, just a media event that we were honored to take the images for.

Soozy Stone with Addiction Recovery Ministries

Soozy Stone with Addiction Recovery Ministries (ARM) was the first to receive a grant. The grant will help ARM with curriculum to work with teen pregnancies, single parents with small children and to provide GED and other educational training.

Meals on Wheels of Palo Pinto County, Inc. was unable to attend the media event but they received a grant to help with some of the project cost for cosmetic appearance updates to the inside of their building.

Stephanie Taylor with Clark Gardens

Clark Gardens recived a grant that they plan on using to remodel the front entrance to the gardens. Some of the changes they plan to make will be adding new flower beds, water fountains, new lighting, repairing iron work and, repainting the main gate.

Texas Frontier Trails and Weatherford Bike Club plan to use their grant for building a restroom facility at the Western Heritage Trails Park.

Judy Jackson with Back Pack Buddies-Mineral Wells

Back Pack Buddies needed this grant to help feed 550 children in the Mineral Wells community.

Beth Williams with United Way of Palo Pinto, Inc

United Way of Palo Pinto, Inc will use the funds to help support the Palo Pinto Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund which helps residents struggling with rent and/or utility bills.

Jim Rhodes with New Haven

Because of the increased volume of food needed during this time, New Haven will be using this grant to purchase an electric pallet jack.

Sandy Buzby with CARE Animal Rescue

CARE Animal Rescue will be using their grant to purchase a new air conditioning unit.

The Brazos Foundation is helping so many organizations in the Palo Pinto area. Especially in these times, the community thanks you.
