MINERAL WELLS, TX – After the recent and unexpected passing of Brandon Williams, 19, Mineral Wells ISD will be closing early to on Monday, November 2nd, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. to allow students and faculty to attend funeral services. Childcare will be available until normal closing times and bus routes will run at 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Brandon Reed Williams, 19, of Mineral Wells, Texas, unexpectedly passed away on October 29, 2020 in College Station, Texas.
Brandon was the son of Jeffrey and Jolene Williams. He was born in Stephenville, Texas on March 12, 2001. Brandon was a 2019 graduate of Mineral Wells High School. In high school Brandon played football, showed animals through FFA and served as an FFA officer. He also competed with the UIL History team all four years. The Palo Pinto County 4-H Shooting Sports was one of Brandon’s greatest passions. From the age of 10 he competed in rifle and pistol target shooting, advancing to state three times. In his last years he took time to mentor the new and young participants. As a member of the First United Methodist Church Brandon was involved in the youth group and attended many mission trips to help those in need. Brandon loved to work and he enjoyed every opportunity to give to those around him. Brandon was a member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2023. He was also a member of the Corps of Cadets Squadron 8 (Outlaws), working his way through the ranks showing leadership, service and dedication. He loved being an Aggie and he loved being an Outlaw.
Brandon is survived by his parents, Jeffrey and Jolene Williams; sister, Kylie Williams, of College Station; grandmother, Pat Williams, of Goldthwaite; grandmother, Cheryl Fricke, of Granbury; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his brothers and sisters from Squadron 8 Corps of Cadets.
A family gathering will be held 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells.
