Jonny Goodday | Goodday Mineral Wells | 11/28/2020 | Events
UPDATE 11/28/2020: Merry Wells has been postponed to tomorrow from 6PM-7PM because of weather.
Every year we get excited for Merry Wells, a Christmas parade held in down town Mineral Wells attracting hundreds of people each year. Because of the pandemic, there have been some changes. This year the spectators will be the ones driving as the Merry Wells floats stay parked ensuring everyone is able to enjoy the event while staying at a safe distance from each other. Goodday Mineral Wells will be covering the event live through our Facebook page to ensure you can watch it even if you need or want to stay home.
“The Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce will host their annual Merry Wells Lighted Christmas Parade this year with a fun, socially distant twist. The community will enjoy a reverse Christmas parade. Instead of the parade floats traveling the streets of downtown Mineral Wells, they’ll be lined up where spectators will drive through to see the floats and performers.
For the health and safety of all attendees, float operators, and volunteers, attendees will be required to remain in their vehicles while at the parade site.
Parade goers will be treated to holiday goodie bags (while supplies last), a map for the Lighted Driving Tour, and some fun Merry Wells giveaways. They’ll also be invited to vote for their favorite floats.
All parade entries will be judged and prizes will be awarded to five categories: Most Christmas Spirit, Best Use of Theme (A Season of Hope- chosen by community vote), Best Use of Lights, Judge’s Choice, and Merry Wells Award/Best Overall.
For more information, visit MerryWells.org or call the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce at 940-325-2557.”
