Aleshia D. Newberry Pierce
November 21, 1948 – November 03, 2020

Aleshia Newberry Pierce, beloved wife, mother and Nini, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.

Memorial Service:  10 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 in White’s Mineral Wells Chapel, 101 N. E. 4th Ave., Mineral Wells.

Memorial Visitation:  9 – 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of Aleshia’s favorite programs, Travis Elementary Battle of the Books via Mineral Wells ISD at 1001 S. E. MLK Jr. Street, Mineral Wells, TX  76067.

Aleshia was born in Mineral Wells on November 21, 1948, to Floyd and Ersie Clary Newberry.  She attended Gordon High School where she met the love of her life, Bill Pierce, to whom she was married for 53 years.

Aleshia’s deep-rooted compassion for children led her to serve as Director of Mother’s Day Out for several years and as a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells.  She was also a long-time 4th grade teacher at Travis Elementary School, where she touched the lives of many students, including those students who were lucky enough to be on one of her many award-winning Battle of the Books teams.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, of Mineral Wells; her sons, Brad and wife, Stacey, of Mineral Wells, Michael and wife, Erin, of Aledo, Erik and wife, Kelsi of Garden City; daughter, Christen Wood and husband, Justin, of Garland; grandchildren, Caleb, Matthew, Ethan, Jordan, Andrew, Leila, Barrett, Pierce, and Isla; her brother, Randy Newberry and wife, Jan, of Forney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
