Dr. Roger Wang has joined Palo Pinto General Hospital and has started his practice in Interventional Pain Management. With a comprehensive background in Interventional Pain, Neurology, and more, Dr. Wang and his staff are ready to aid those within Palo Pinto County.
FOUR GENERATIONS OF DOCTORS
Dr. Wang has a true passion for the medical field. He is a fourth-generation physician. In fact, his great grandfather was a traveling physician that performed house calls and practiced both rural and family medicine. His grandmother is an ENT surgeon and his mother practiced Internal Medicine in China. After his mother moved to the United States, she became a chiropractor and acupuncturist. Dr. Wang did consider following in her footsteps to treat musculoskeletal illnesses, however, his mother stated to him, “You should really go out there and learn everything you can about medicine.”
Having experience in both Eastern and Western medicine, Dr. Wang chose to obtain his doctorate in osteopathy with a primary focus on musculoskeletal and physical rehabilitation. He pursued his fellowship in Interventional Pain Management and states, “I wanted to arm myself in all the possible tools to treat patients with pain. I want to minimize the number of times where I have to say ‘I don’t have many options for you.'” While Dr. Wang does perform many procedures, sometimes he utilizes his background in chiropractic medicine or physical rehabilitation to best aid his patients.
NEW TREATMENTS FOR PAIN RELIEF
“Pain is one of those things that is difficult. There’s no test for pain. That doesn’t mean that I don’t go about trying to help them and treating their pain and symptoms.”
Dr. Wang
Dr. Wang is able to treat a wide range of conditions including osteoarthritis, radiculopathy, post-surgical pain, post-laminectomy syndrome, myofascial pain syndrome, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain, sports injuries, migraines, and more. With treatments such as non-narcotic pain medication management, osteopathic manual medicine, minimally invasive surgical procedures, nerve blocks, joint injections, physical therapy, trigger point injections, and more, Dr. Wang is able to provide a new alternative for relief.
“The pain field is a relatively new field with a lot of novel therapies.”

CARING STAFF AND A GREAT FACILITY
Dr. Wang primarily sees adults with a majority of patients who have osteoarthritic pain. His clinic days are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and his procedure days are Tuesdays and Thursdays. His clinic is open Monday through Friday 8AM – 5PM.
“What brought me to PPGH was just a good ‘gut feeling.’ I just trusted my gut and it’s never really failed me. When I came in for my interview, the folks were incredibly friendly and down to earth. They cared more about people than the business side,” Dr. Wang states.
With caring staff and availability to see new patients with a wide array of insurance, Dr. Wang is ready to start taking on more patients who are in need of relief. Patients within Palo Pinto County and the surrounding areas are encouraged to call his clinic to set up an appointment.
When Dr. Wang is not practicing medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and enjoying the warmer weather in Texas with his wife. He and his wife also enjoy exploring different areas and new neighborhoods with great food. He and his wife have traveled to four different countries while exploring and plan to do more traveling in the future.
