Wanda Elizabeth Reddell
July 20, 1933 – September 24, 2020

After a long and successful life, Wanda Elizabeth Ridens Reddell, age 87, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020, in Midland, Texas.  She was born in Fulbright, Texas, and continued her early life there until graduating from high school at the age of sixteen. Wanda then attended Paris Junior College where she met and married the love of her life, Billy Joe Reddell. That love and partnership lasted for 65 years until his death.

Wanda and Bill moved to Mineral Wells in 1964. The two were active in the Mineral Wells School District, community, church, social events, and numerous civic and philanthropic activities. In addition to raising her only daughter, Tacy, Wanda was a faithful member of the Southside Church of Christ of Mineral Wells  where she taught a ladies bible class for over forty years. She was a long time member of the Women’s Club where she served as a past president.  Wanda was an active member of the Book Club and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.  Wanda loved to read, review books, and was an avid bridge player. She was an educator all of her life.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Stella Ridens, and her husband, Bill Reddell.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Tacy Reddell Hicks of Midland; two grandsons, Kade Hicks of Lubbock and Hayden Hicks of Midland; her sister, Jacque Kenner of Odessa; nieces, Kathy Burrows of Odessa, Judy Shannon of Odessa; and nephew Jack Kenner of Odessa.

She leaves behind other family members, church family, school friends and friends of various civic clubs.

Wanda will be lying in state at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home on Thursday evening. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2020, at Southside Church of Christ. William Eudy will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
