On September 12th, 2020, Alex Butler played at Taqueria La Estrella in Mineral Wells after singing the National Anthem at the Mineral Wells Homecoming football game the previous day.
Alex Butler first performed at a college bar at an open mic night in Arkansas. That was the night that sparked his determination to be a determined musician. For the last five years, Alex has been singing his heart out and writing some amazing lyrics along the way.
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, the musician spends a good amount of time here in Mineral Wells. He is well-known for his original “Crazy Town,” a song that is all about Mineral Wells. His inspiration for the song surfaced from his love for Mineral Wells, a town he first visited after his fiancé moved here.
“I love towns that are small, yet big at the same time. Mineral Wells has everything you need, but everybody knows everybody.”
COVID hasn’t been easy on the music scene within Mineral Wells. A town well-known for the arts, musicians did see the impact of the mandates from Governor Abbott regarding crowds and bars. However, this has not stopped Alex from moving forward.
“Music is my escape. I feel like the types of songs I write are for people to find that escape. Even if you cant go anywhere, you can at least listen to music. You can get your own rendition of what the song means to you and what the song is about.”
The Crazy Town album is set to come out in November. Hard copies will be available for sale at the Market 76067. “All of the songs relate back to Mineral Wells or to Rickhouse Brewing.”
Alex Butler plans to return to Mineral Wells in mid-October. Check out his website for more info.
