MINERAL WELLS, TX – The city of Mineral Wells continues to be affected by COVID-19, especially today. With twenty positive cases at Mineral Wells High School, the campus is closing its doors today and shifting to remote learning until September 28th, 2020.

Furthermore, the following declarations made by Gov. Abbott have gone into effect today:
“People may visit nursing homes, state-supported living centers, assisted living facilities, or long-term care facilities as determined through guidance from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).”
An attempt to contact Mineral Wells Nursing and Rehab has been made and was not successful. The Palo Pinto Nursing Center has stated that they are currently “figuring out a process” to allow visitation to occur.
Governor Abbott has also increased the public capacity of certain businesses from 50% to 75%:
“The following types of business establishments may operate at up to 75 percent of the total listed occupancy of the establishment, except for those establishments in areas with high hospitalizations…”
- in-store, non-CISA retail establishments
- dine-in restaurants
- non-CISA office buildings
- non-CISA manufacturers
- museums and libraries
- gyms and exercise facilities and classes

Drive-thru testing dates are not currently scheduled at PPGH. However, all Palo Pinto County residents are encouraged to call the PPGH hotline if they are experiencing symptoms.
