Melba Lahoma Harrah: March 15, 1949 – September 9, 2020

Melba Lahoma Harrah graduated to glory on Wednesday, September 9th, at the age of 71.  She was born March 15, 1949, the daughter of Lena Mae Riley and Bill McCloud, in Waco, Texas.  She was the second youngest of eight siblings.

Her youth was spent in the Granbury, Texas area until she married the love of her life, Raye Harrah, on September 6, 1973 in Glen Rose.  The couple moved to Mineral Wells shortly thereafter.

She worked in several factory and health care related jobs until the mid 1980’s when she became a full time babysitter in her home, which was the occupation she enjoyed the most in her life.

She loved the Lord, dearly loved her church family, and adored her four grandsons.

She is preceded in death by her siblings.  Melba is survived by her husband, Raye Harrah; son, Charles Mays and wife Tamara; daughter, Angela Bolton and husband Walter, all of Mineral Wells; grandsons, Joshua and Jeremy Mays, both of Dallas; Devon Bolton, of Burleson; and Joseph Mays, of Mineral Wells.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 Monday, September 14 at the Woodland Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Eleventh Avenue Church in her memory; P.O. Box 473, Mineral Wells, Texas, 76068.
