PALO PINTO COUNTY, TX – On 8/12/2020, a 2,654 acre grass fire at Pennington Creek is 95% contained according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. The fire is primarily located within Jack County and began near Possum Kingdom Lake in Palo Pinto County.
The fire started on 8/10/2020 and quickly spread at the junction of SH 337 & SH 16 near Rock Creek Road near Possum Kingdom Lake. Individuals nearby were evacuated.
