MINERAL WELLS, TX – Yesterday, Palo Pinto County Voters were given the opportunity to tour the Baker Hotel’s first and second floors. Many exciting updates were given regarding the progress.
Due to COVID precautionary measures and OSHA regulations, the upstairs was kept off limits to visitors. Luckily, the Baker Hotel Group was still able to provide some great progress updates about the developments upstairs by creating a video.
Mark Rawlings, General Partner and Construction Manager for the Baker Hotel, is very passionate about restoring the historical building while ensuring accessibility and comfort for future guests. His hard work does not go unnoticed!
“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to give an update on the progress that is being made to restore the Baker Hotel. While it’s apparent to anyone who drives by that the majority of the windows have now been restored, we are making great strides inside as well. I hope everyone enjoys the video.”
Mark Rawlings
Within his virtual progress tour, he describes many exciting plans for the future of the Baker:
The Baker Hotel will feature a museum, gift shop, and retail shops on the ground floor. The walls of the ground floor have been replastered and the stairwell has been reformed. The doors of the ballroom are being restored and the room will be able to accommodate different groups up to 700 people. The spa level will include the original subway and hex tiling and an elevator will be added to connect the room to the spa garden. A standard sized guest room is created by combining two of the original rooms and will include a walk-in closet.
The tenth floor will contain conference rooms, exercise rooms, and break spaces. The grand salon will be perfect for future proms and corporate meetings. The presidential suite will include a bridal suite and bridal prep room. The Baker suite will include a living area, central dining area, and a billiards room. The cloud room has had its ceiling dropped and the dance floor will be redone with new hardwood. The original hardwood will be used for picture frames.
These are just a few of the many great updates – watch the video to learn more!
