Arissa Viering | 7/17/2020 | Goodday Mineral Wells | Fire/EMS Updates

PRESS RELEASE 7/17/20 from the desk of Deputy Chief R. Dunn:

On July 7, 2020, Mineral Wells Fire/EMS deployed two ambulance staff to Starr County near the Texas/Mexico border at the request of the Emergency Medical Task Force 2 (EMTF-2). Crews have been operating as a part of an ambulance strike team. On July 17, 2020, two additional ambulance staff will be traveling to Starr County to relieve the current members. The support provided from Mineral Wells Fire/EMS has been extended for an additional 10 days due to the strain on the 911 system and overcrowding of hospitals in the area due to the Covid 19 outbreak.
