December 3, 1925 – July 5, 2020

Billie Ruth Pratt, age 94, of Mineral Wells, Texas, died peacefully at her home on Sunday July 5th, 2020. Her last days were spent surrounded by family.

Billie Pratt was born December 3rd, 1925 in Joplin, Missouri a daughter of the late Zelma and Russell Skelton.

Billie settled in Mineral Wells, Texas in the 1950’s where she raised her four children Carolyn, Diana, Ed and Sharon.  She began her time there as the owner and operator of the North Oak Dairy Queen.  After exiting of the food service industry, she became a home maker.  Billie also enjoyed several years of volunteering at Palo Pinto General Hospital.

A loving and devoted mother, Billie was immensely proud of her family.  She was also excited to be “Grannie” to her seven grandchildren and happy to join the ranks of great and great-great grannie to several others. Billie loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with family was important to her.

Billie was known for her feisty yet sweet personality. She was well loved in her small town of Mineral Wells, Texas. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mineral Wells and attending Bible study with her friends was one of her favorite past times.  She also loved to travel, especially if where she landed had slot machines.  She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Billie was the beloved mother of Carolyn Pratt Hickey and husband Charles of Mineral Wells, Texas; the late Diana Pratt Wyatt and her late husband Johnny Wyatt of Bossier City, Louisiana; the late Edward Taylor Pratt III and his wife Lisa of Dallas, Texas; and Sharon Pratt Naftel and her husband Mike of Heath, Texas.  She was a loving Grannie to Charles Hickey Jr. and Samuel Taylor Hickey of Mineral Wells, Texas; Bridgett Worley of Aledo, Texas; John Nash of Ft. Worth, Texas; Erica Pratt of Shelter Island, NY;  Jourdan Pratt of Dallas, Texas; and Michael Naftel of McKinney, Texas.  Ms. Pratt was proud to be Grannie to several great and great-great grandchildren as well.  She is survived by a loving brother Jim Wycoff of Arrowhead, Oklahoma; and several other family members and friends including a special “sidekick” and caregiver, Gail Ellis.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, the family regrets that there will not be a memorial service at this time.
