MINERAL WELLS, TX – On 8/24/2020, the MWPD released a press release regarding the arrest of Mineral Wells Police Officer Israel Gonzales on charges of Violations of the Civil Rights of Person in Custody, Improper Sexual Activity with Person in Custody or Supervision, and Sexual Assault.
The press release states: On August 24, 2020, Mineral Wells Police Officer Israel Gonzales was arrested by the Texas Rangers on charges of Violations of the Civil Rights of Person in Custody, Improper Sexual Activity with Person in Custody or Supervision, and Sexual Assault. Gonzales’ arrest followed an investigation by the Texas Rangers in response to an outcry made by an inmate at the Palo Pinto Jail.
Gonzales had been with the Mineral Wells Police Department since February 2014. Gonzales’ employment at the department has been terminated.
